PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Two-Year Full-Time Residential Program

The MBA (Food and Agri-Business Management) at SIBM Nagpur is a specialized, fully residential, two-year program launched in 2022 to meet the growing demand for management professionals in the rapidly evolving food and agriculture sectors. Structured over 100 academic credits, the program integrates core management principles with domain-specific exposure, preparing students to lead across corporate, entrepreneurial, and development-oriented roles.

Throughout the program, students develop a diverse set of managerial and sector-specific skills that are critical to the modern agri-business landscape. Emphasis is placed on strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making in complex and dynamic environments. Students learn to navigate the intricacies of value chains, optimize resource use, and manage business operations that are sustainable, scalable, and inclusive.

In addition to strong business fundamentals, the program nurtures analytical abilities, leadership qualities, and an understanding of rural economies and stakeholder ecosystems. Students gain experience in applying technology, managing risk, interpreting market trends, and creating business models that drive both profitability and social impact.

The learning experience is enriched through experiential pedagogy including field immersions, industry engagement, simulation exercises, research-driven projects, and interactions with practitioners and experts in the food and agri-business domain. This practical exposure enables students to apply classroom learning to real-world contexts and develop a grounded perspective of the sector.

Graduates emerge with the confidence and competence to work in agribusiness firms, food processing companies, development agencies, cooperatives, rural enterprises, and agripreneurial ventures equipped not only to manage but also to innovate and lead transformation in one of the most vital sectors of the economy.
