   Topic: Relationship Between Food Security, Agriculture, and the Sustainable Development Goals: A Bibliometric Analysis

   Description:
   As part of the ongoing Faculty Seminar Series, SIBM Nagpur hosted an informative session led by Dr. Ganesh Rede, focusing on the relationships between Agriculture, Food Security, and Sustainability in the context of the UNDP’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Dr. Ganesh presented a Bibliometric Analysis based on research data from Scopus and Web of Science (WoS), covering the period from 2014 to May 2024. Using VOSviewer Software, the study mapped influential authors, institutions, and global research trends, emphasizing SDGs such as Climate Action, Zero Hunger, and Life on Land. The seminar highlighted the leading roles of India, USA, and China in agricultural research and stressed the importance of sustainable practices and international collaboration to address global food security challenges.
   
   Also, the session underscored the need for sustainable agricultural practices and global collaboration to ensure long-term food availability and environmental conservation.

   Topic: Understanding Consumers’ Willingness to Pay More and Choice Behavior for Organic Food Products Considering the Influence of Skepticism

   Description:
   As part of the Faculty Seminar Series at SIBM Nagpur, an intellectually engaging session was conducted by Dr. Arif Abad, who presented his research paper titled “Understanding Consumers’ Willingness to Pay More and Choice Behavior for Organic Food Products Considering the Influence of Skepticism.”
   
   The session commenced with an insightful narration of how the research idea was conceptualized, emphasizing the contemporary relevance of organic food consumption amidst rising health consciousness and environmental awareness.
   
   Dr. Abad elaborated on the theoretical foundations that guided the study, particularly the rationale for adopting the Theory of Consumption Values (TCV), which served as an apt framework to capture the multifaceted drivers of consumer behavior in the organic food domain. The discussion underscored three pivotal constructs: Willingness to Pay More, Choice Behavior, and Skepticism, highlighting their interdependencies and significance in understanding the organic food market.
   
   Dr. Abad deftly illustrated how consumer skepticism toward marketing claims often moderates the relationship between value perception and purchase intention, making it a critical variable in contemporary consumer research. The seminar provided a comprehensive view of how academic research can offer detailed insights into consumer psychology, sustainability, and ethical consumption, providing a deeper understanding among faculty members of the evolving dynamics of food marketing and consumer trust.

   Topic: When Data Fall Short: The Power of Lived Experience in Business Research

   Resource Person: Dr. Nivedita Jha
   Description:
   The June month Seminar series was facilitated by Dr. Nivedita Jha, who conducted a session on the usage of qualitative analysis methods in research. The discussion focused on the utilization of qualitative data in situations where numbers are not enough to access real data. Dr. Jha used ‘Black Swan’ theory to convey the relevance of three lesser-known approaches in business research, i.e. phenomenology, narratology, and metamorphology.
   
   The session concluded with a discussion on sources of data collection and the scope of the discussed technique in various disciplines like marketing, HR, operations, and finance.

   Topic: Bridging Practice and Theory: Demystifying Entrepreneurial Dimensions of Small and Medium Retailers in India

   Description:
   As part of the Faculty Seminar Series at SIBM Nagpur, Dr. Palaniappan Sellappan delivered an insightful presentation titled “Bridging Practice and Theory: Demystifying Entrepreneurial Dimensions of Small and Medium Retailers in India.” The seminar focused on empirically analyzing how Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO) and Entrepreneurial Competence (EC) together shape the performance of small and medium retailers, especially in the context of the evolving Indian retail landscape.
   
   The session explored critical constructs using validated scales and structural equation modeling, drawing upon data collected from 740 retail entrepreneurs across Chennai. By integrating both EO (like innovativeness, proactiveness, and risk-taking) and EC (such as strategic and opportunity-seeking competencies), the study constructed a holistic model of entrepreneurial behavior in retail. The research adopted the Entrepreneurial Value Creation (EVC) theory and highlighted a mediating role of EC between EO and business performance.
   
   Using tools like Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), the seminar provided rich insights into the causal relationships and validated hypotheses.The findings emphasized the urgent need for traditional retailers to innovate, adapt hybrid retail models (Click-and-Brick), collaborate with e-commerce platforms, and invest in upskilling to sustain competitiveness.The seminar concluded with a discussion on theoretical implications, methodological choices, sampling challenges, and future directions, emphasizing the importance of context-specific entrepreneurial frameworks.
